Feeling Grateful. Seven Quick Takes from Liturgy of Life

We spent most of this week traveling, visiting friends and churches supporting our work on the border. There is nothing that humbles and inspires me more than being surrounded by folks who believe in our family.  Their encouragement truly makes all the good that we do possible (I’ll take credit for all the bad that we do, hopefully it isn’t too much).

1.  We started with a quick stop in Fredericksburg. How sweet it was to be greeted by these folks and the crisp Hill Country air.

I can’t say enough about this family or the amazing Caribbean food. So thankful for a night in the Hill Country.

And waking up to this view.

2. Next stop Kerrville.

Visiting our old church and getting some great finds at their yard sale.

Getting our Christmas decorations and other odds and ends out of our storage unit. Which meant that I spent the rest of the trip sitting like this.

3. We spent a day hanging out in Boerne, eating all of our meals outside, visiting old friends, connecting with a new church and filling our shoes with sand.

4. Next we moved on to San Antonio where some great friends shared their toys.

And where Zenie treated us by singing the first three verses of American Pie doing her own guitar accompaniment.

5.  We had some free time on our way to Austin.

We made a long awaited stop at Natural Bridge Caverns (I’ve only been asking Michael to take me there for 8 years).

Followed by a visit to Freddie’s Frozen custard.

6.   Final stop in Austin.

Gotta love a visit to Whole Foods.

And then reconnected with old friends and new at what will go down in history as a ridiculously enjoyable fundraising dinner (who knew raising support could be this much fun).

7.  And thank you for helping us raise money for this guy, $3,500 in just a week.

Daniel is a refugee from Ethiopia, he needs an surgery and had no means to pay for it until you joined with us and made it happen.
